It’s National Park Week, and we’ll be celebrating at Classical KING with music inspired by the natural world. Nestled in our verdant corner of the world, we’re fortunate to enjoy such rich and vibrant wilderness in the Pacific Northwest: join us to celebrate the great outdoors and our National Park system.
Northwest Focus LIVE

This week’s Northwest Focus Live is a rebroadcast from December 2024 when we welcomed the Mousai Quintet to the studios. Hailing from the Eastman School of Music, this woodwind quintet was the alternate winner chamber ensemble from last year’s Ladies Musical Club of Seattle Frances Walton Competition. Sean MacLean is your host this Friday, April 25th at 7pm on Northwest Focus Live.

Northwest Symphony Orchestra – Crescendo: A Symphonic Celebration of Washington Landscapes
Friday, April 25 | 7:30pm | Benaroya Hall, Seattle
The Northwest Symphony Orchestra is teaming up with the Washington Trails Association to present their second annual partnership concert, and it’s all about Washington Landscapes. The program ranges from Samuel Jones’ Mount Rainier Overture to Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and will feature rising young star violinist Hanna Gottesman.
Hearts in Harmony: Interactive Concert for Autism Awareness and Inclusion
Saturday, April 26 | 3pm | Bellevue Crossroads Community Center Theater
ConChord invites you to a special concert promoting autism awareness, acceptance and inclusion. This sensory-friendly event is open to the community and will feature Nina Iorik, a young award-winning pianist in Seattle who has garnered international attention.
Cantare Amantis: The Merry Month of Maying
Sunday, April 27 | 2:30pm | Woodland Park United Methodist Church, Seattle
Join Cantare Amantis for a celebration of spring love and all its complications! With Renaissance and contemporary selections, this SATB choral group will be ringing in the Merry Month of May with songs of the fleeting pleasures and pains of romance.

Metropolitan Opera Broadcast
Saturday, April 26 | 10am
This week’s Met Opera Broadcast is a timeless adaptation of a play that caused scandal with its revolutionary take on 18th century society. In a chaotic whirlwind of mistaken identities, Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro is a comedy that centers around the wedding of Figaro and Susanna and boasts a witty and intricate plot full of twists and turns.
The Score with Edmund Stone
Compose, Direct, Action!

Edmund Stone takes a listen to the unique talents of composers that also direct their own films in Compose, Direct, Action! Enjoy music from the multi-talented Michael Giacchino and Werewolf by Night; Alejandro Amenabar and The Others, Clint Eastwood with Mystic River and more.
Visions in Black and White
Sunday, April 27 | 4pm
They create a riveting aesthetic, evoke a timeless feel and focus our attention to the story. Contemporary films shot in black and white are some of the finest entertainment in cinema. Join Edmund Stone as he explores the music that accompanies these gorgeous movies including Schindler’s List, Passing, The Elephant Man and more. It’s a study in contrasts, this Sunday on The Score.
Second Inversion
Resounding Earth

This Saturday on Second Inversion, we celebrate Earth Day with music that resonates with the natural world. From the shimmering chimes of Resounding Earth by Augusta Read Thomas to Jacob Druckman’s Reflections on the Nature of Water, we’ll explore the elements through sound.
