Emerald City Music kicks off its 11th season on Northwest Focus Live with a lineup of world-class chamber musicians who share deep ties to the Pacific Northwest. Violinists Kristin Lee and James Garlick, violist Katie Liu, and cellist Efe Baltacigil perform selections from Smetana’s From My Life Quartet and Dvořák’s String Quartet No. 14, offering a preview of the artistry and collaboration at the heart of Emerald City Music’s new season.

Celebrate the First Notes of the Season with Classical KING and Live Music Project

Discover the concerts beginning across the Northwest, and find your next live music experience through the Live Music Project calendar. 

There is a special kind of anticipation at the beginning of the concert season. Across the Northwest, musicians are gathering; rehearsals are beginning, and choirs, orchestras, chamber ensembles, opera companies, and other performing arts organizations are preparing to share months of extraordinary music. 

This September, Classical KING and Live Music Project are celebrating First Notes of the Season, an invitation to discover the performances beginning in communities throughout our region. By bringing concert information together in one accessible calendar, the campaign gives listeners another way to explore local music and find a performance that speaks to them.

International Talk Like a Pirate Day is coming and Edmund Stone is rolling out his “arrrrrr-senal” of swashbuckling music from films about pirates to celebrate. From Treasure Island to Pirates of the Caribbean, The Buccaneer and Hook, it’s a treasure chest of musical fun!

Sunday, September 20 | 4pm

Coming up on The Score it’s all about getting there in style with Fabulous Rides. Join creator, host and producer Edmund Stone and let the music take you on the back of a Pegasus in A Wrinkle in Time, ride a broom with Harry Potter at Hogwarts, soar on a flying carpet with Aladdin and more. It’s a fabulous musical ride this Sunday on the Score.
