Host: Dave Beck 

Join your host Dave Beck for a musical dance, a party, and an organ fanfare! Jun Märkl conducts the Seattle Symphony in Poulenc’s Les Biches Suite, Poulenc’s Concerto for Organ, Timpani, and Strings featuring organist Paul Jacobs, and Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony. Vashon Opera: Falstaff

Host: Nikhil Sarma 

On this week’s Northwest Focus Live, Vashon Opera is bringing selections from their production of Verdi’s comedic classic, Falstaff, to the Classical KING studios! The story tells of the Caddish knight Sir John Falstaff as he tries to get his hands on some cash by seducing two wealthy wives of Windsor. Alien Encounters

Are you up for an intergalactic adventure? This Saturday on Second Inversion: Alien Encounters. Hop aboard the spaceship and buckle up for the sounds of space, the music of the spheres, and even a tune or two from the Starman in the sky. Plus, one physicist’s recordings from the furthest reaches of our solar system. 

 

The Score with Edmund Stone 

The Transformative Power of Music 

Saturday, October 4 | 4pm 

Movie music soothes, heals and transforms us in so many ways and this week Edmund Stone has some of the best examples of the transformative power of music, including Schindler’s List, The Mission, 1917 and a few more. 

 

The Transformative Power of Music: Believe 

Sunday, October 5 | 4pm 

Music has the power to change your mood, your heart and maybe even the world. Edmund Stone, creator, host and producer of The Score shares uplifting, inspiring music from films that will make you feel good. Music from Mary Poppins, Titanic, Akeelah and the Bee, Chariots of Fire and more will have you believing things can change for the better.
