The Earth is humming with music—if you slow down to listen. Music moves and vibrates through each of us, and no matter what corner of the world you travel to, you’ll hear people tapping into it.

Augusta Read Thomas invites us to listen a little deeper in her piece Resounding Earth. It features over 500 different types of bells and metals from across time and from cultures across the globe, exploring bells as carriers of history and culture, joy and wonder. Plus, liquid percussion! Jacob Druckman offers us a space to reflect on the nature of water, with music exploring the many ways it flows, rains, echoes, swells, and splashes.

We’ll hear both pieces—music of land and sea—performed by Third Coast Percussion on this week’s episode of Second Inversion.

To listen, tune in to Classical KING on Saturday, April 26 at 9pm PT.
