This Saturday on Second Inversion: American Mavericks. We’ll hear from American composers who have challenged, questioned, and expanded our definitions of music. From the radio experiments of John Cage to the handmade microtonal instruments of Harry Partch. Plus, a lesson in deep listening from Pauline Oliveros.

Celebrate the birth of this country with a Score episode of stirring music that captures the American Spirit, including Lincoln, First Man, Remember the Titans, Top Gun and more. It’s American Fireworks, this Saturday on The Score. 

 

History of America According to Hollywood: Part 2 

Sunday, July 6 | 4pm 

This Sunday on The Score Edmund Stone continues the celebration of our history in Hollywood, with movies following World War 2 and into the future. Enjoy music from First Man, Apocalypse Now, BlacKKKlansman, Nomadland, The Social Network, The Martian and a few more.

Concerts in America presents Derek Gripper, Guitar 

Wednesday, July 2 | 7:30pm | Town Hall Seattle 

Concerts in America presents an evening with Derek Gripper, a guitarist who redefines the boundaries of classical music. Praised for his innovative techniques, Gripper masterfully blends the music of great African composers Diabaté and Farka Touré alongside the timeless compositions of Pärt and Bach. 

 

Ladies Musical Club: All Flutes Great & Small

Enjoy flute and piano works by Piazzolla, Ponce, Gershwin, and more while surrounded by fine visual art!
